If you’re transferring to AMU with an AA or AS, you may have already fulfilled our 30-credit general education requirement. We award up to 90 credits for previous academic coursework, military training, and work experience. AMU also evaluates and applies transfer credit at no cost.

At AMU, benefit from affordable tuition and the convenience and flexibility of online learning. Monthly course starts and weekly class schedules with no set login times enable you to control your schedule.

Culinary School of Fort Worth: Fort Worth, TX

Our partnership with The Culinary School of Fort Worth is designed to maximize transfer credit while providing a clear academic pathway to earning your associate degree. Once you complete The Professional Culinary Program, you can transfer 15 credits into either the Associate of Arts degree in Hospitality or the Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary & Foodservice Management. In addition to the 15 credits, you also can transfer 30 additional credits based on previous training or experiences. The maximum amount of transfer credit possible is 45 credits. Our partnership with Miami Dade College (MDC) maximizes transfer credit, providing a pathway for associate degree graduates to be admitted with junior status. Graduates with an AA or AS will be considered to have fulfilled the APUS General Education requirements (excluding program-specific requirements), upon receipt of official transcripts of a conferred degree. In addition, graduates may receive up to 90 transfer credits for prior learning, work experience, military experience, and professional training. Our partnership with Yavapai College is designed to offer you the most transfer credits possible while providing a clear and simple path to completing your bachelor’s degree. With your conferred associate’s degree the university awards up to 30 credits  toward your general education requirement with up to 90 transfer credits possible for prior learning, work experience, military experience, and professional training. We also offer books at no cost and a tech fee waiver for all courses for undergraduates taking courses for credit.

Giving You The Freedom To Learn

We Support Military Families

AMU's Freedom Grant^® covers tuition above the military TA cap of $250 per credit hour for all undergraduate and master's-level programs. The grant is available to all U.S. active-duty servicemembers, National Guard members, and Reservists.

Military spouses/dependents also receive a tuition grant. After the grant is applied, undergraduate and master's-level tuition is $250/credit hour.

To further minimize education costs, AMU also offers these benefits:

• $0 ebook costs for all  master's-level courses for those eligible for the Freedom Grant and/or military tuition grant (all undergraduate and doctoral students also receive no-cost ebooks)
• $0 technology fee for active-duty military servicemembers, National Guard members, and Reserve personnel

The grant is applied automatically for those who are eligible. Tuition grants cannot be combined and only one tuition grant can be applied per course registration.
