Cisco I is the first of two courses that follow the Cisco Networking Academy curriculum, providing a strong foundation in networking fundamentals. This computer networking course introduces students to essential concepts such as network terminology, protocols, and the basics of Ethernet LANs, Virtual LANs (VLANs), and wide-area networks (WANs). Students will explore the OSI model, structured cabling, and the role of key network devices such as routers and switches. Additional topics include Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, configuring basic network management features on switches, and understanding common network standards. By completing this course, students build the core networking basics needed to continue into more advanced Cisco training.
