Financial Aid Overview
Financial aid is funding intended to help students pay for their college education. Depending on the type of financial aid you receive, your total aid package typically covers the cost of tuition, university fees, books and supplies, housing, and personal expenses related to pursuing your education. Financial aid can come from public or private sources including the federal government through the Federal Student Aid (FSA) program.
If you plan to use financial aid, we recommend you start the aid process at least 5 weeks prior to your course start date. During this time, check your email frequently and please respond promptly to requests from our financial aid team asking for documentation such as tax information or transcripts.
While the majority of our programs are eligible for financial aid, these programs are NOT eligible:
- Courses taken as audit (no credit earned)
- Undergraduate courses for transfer to another institution
- Associate of Arts (A.A.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in General Studies
- Our 3-course learning tracks
If you are not receiving emails from the financial aid department, please check your spam folder or adjust your email settings to accept messages from all “@apus.edu” senders. To ensure the university receives your email, please use your current email address on file with the university or your ecampus mailbox when communicating with us.
During your first semester using Federal Student Aid, a Financial Aid Advisor will work with you to finalize your award.
