Many universities offer online business administration degree programs. Still, it is worth noting that program requirements may vary from one online university to another. For example, some online programs require students to log in to live virtual lectures at a scheduled time. Other universities may allow for asynchronous learning, which enables students to access pre-recorded lectures, class discussion forums, and other course materials as their schedules permit.
Online classes at AMU are asynchronous. Each week, however, students are required to complete assignments and engage in discussion boards with their classmates and instructors.
Ultimately, the answer depends heavily on your own individual learning objectives and long-term goals. An associate degree in business administration provides a strong foundation in essential business concepts. Through a structured sequence of business courses, students learn about management, marketing, finance, and organizational leadership.
Coursework for AMU’s online associate degree explores how these functional areas translate to today’s business environment. The program also gives learners the opportunity to strengthen hard and soft skills as they study business fundamentals.
A business administration associate degree can serve as a practical credential that may help job-seekers qualify for entry-level positions. Alternatively, it can act as a stepping stone by preparing students to enroll in a business administration bachelor's degree program at a four-year university.
The curriculum for AMU’s AA in Business Administration aligns with that of our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. For example, many of the same major-required online courses are included in both the AA and BBA programs.
In addition, general education credits earned throughout an associate program may also be applied toward a bachelor’s degree program. A student who earns this associate degree may therefore be able to save time completing the BBA afterward.
